Court Orders Removal of Controversial
Pepsi Paloma Movie Teaser! π¬π¨
In a dramatic turn of events, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205 has partially granted Vic Sotto’s petition for a Writ of Habeas Data against Darryl Yap, ordering the removal of the 26-second teaser for the Pepsi Paloma movie from all online platforms. Despite this, the court has allowed Yap to continue with the production and release of the movie.
Sotto’s lawyer, Atty. Enrique Dela Cruz, expressed gratitude for the decision and called for the immediate removal of promo materials containing Vic Sotto’s name. On the other hand, Yap’s lawyer, Atty. Raymond Fortun, stated they will not appeal the decision for now, especially since the court did not halt the movie's production and release. Fortun also hopes the gag order imposed on both parties will continue.
Sotto has filed 19 counts of cyber-libel complaints against Yap after the teaser went viral, naming Sotto as the alleged rapist of the late sexy star, Pepsi Paloma. Paloma was part of the popular 1980s girl group “Softdrink Beauties,” alongside Sarsi Emmanuel, Coca Nicolas, and Myra “Mirinda” Manibog.
