Army Issues a Dire Warning to Cyber Intruders: “We Know Who You Are!”๐ฅ๐ก️ The Philippine Army has issued a stark warning to the group behind a recent cyber intrusion attempt, announcing on February 25th that they have identified the culprits responsible for trying to infiltrate their systems and steal military data.
According to Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala, while the group remains unnamed, a comprehensive investigation is underway to bring these cyber criminals to justice.
Col. Dema-ala revealed that they have pinpointed the internet protocol (IP) address used by the intruders, and they are aware of the group's location and identities.
In a related incident, the same group targeted the Philippine Navy’s mail system, but Navy spokesperson Captain John Percie Alcos clarified that this was not a hacking attempt, but rather an illegal intrusion.
As Captain Alcos emphasized, the Navy's IT infrastructure remains intact, and the security of their systems has not been compromised. The attackers exploited credentials from compromised email accounts to gain access, but did not bypass security measures to alter the system.
Both the Army and Navy assure the public that their systems remain secure, and investigations continue to determine the full extent of the breach and whether it involved internal or foreign elements.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Cyber Command is leading the investigation, working to uncover all aspects of this breach. While the attackers succeeded in unauthorized access, the Philippine military reassures everyone that state secrets and personnel remain safeguarded. Rest assured, the situation is under control, and their systems continue to function flawlessly.
