The cheeky critter left brown paw prints all over her new beige couch and was panting heavily from its indulgence. The viral "Cake Bandit" has since become a sensation, with fans flooding Nebraska Wildlife Rehab with messages of support. 


This opossum's cake binge likely saved its life, as it led to the discovery of unrelated lead toxicity. Now on the road to recovery, the opossum is expected to return to the wild by the end of March. 


Nebraska Wildlife Rehab has even designed T-shirts to commemorate this sweet scandal, with proceeds supporting their mission to save native wildlife.
