 Massive Power Outage at BWI Airport Disrupts Travel! ✈️⚡ Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport experienced a significant power outage Monday morning, causing over 150 flight delays and a handful of cancellations. The disruption, reported around 7:40 a.m., was due to a downed power line near the airport. Crews from Baltimore Gas and Electric Company are working tirelessly to restore power.




The outage impacted key areas of the main terminal and an adjacent parking garage, leading to widespread travel chaos. Airport officials advised passengers to check with their airlines for the latest flight status updates. Some inbound flights have been diverted, adding to the travel woes.


Despite the turmoil, power is slowly being restored throughout the main terminal. As of mid-morning, some airlines are using air stairs to deplane passengers. The incident highlights the vulnerabilities in airport infrastructure and the ripple effect such outages can have on air travel.


Travelers are urged to stay patient and remain vigilant for any updates from airport authorities. With more than 100 flights delayed, the BWI Airport community is working hard to get things back on track.
