Heartbreaking Tragedy: Toddler Dies After Mom Denies Food for Two Days, Blames Migraine 😢 In a devastating case out of Missouri, a toddler has tragically died from severe malnutrition after being denied food for nearly two full days. Alyssa Nicole Wehmeyer, 21, was arrested and charged with abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death. The shocking incident took place in Cape Girardeau, about 115 miles southeast of St. Louis. Authorities discovered that the one-year-old child hadn't eaten for approximately 43 hours, with very little evidence of food found in the stomach during the autopsy. The Cape Girardeau Police Department found the child's body on February 28th and sought assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol for the investigation.
